Vote for your favourite food waste caddy design

Writer: Dominic Ridley-MoyDominic Ridley-Moy

Recycling food waste should be easy and convenient, but I know from working with local authorities that one of the biggest obstacles is simply the look of the food waste caddy itself.

People don’t always want them on display in their kitchen. Whether it’s due to aesthetics or space issues, these are common barriers.

That’s why we've teamed up with our friends over at Alive with Ideas to redesign food waste caddy liners with a fresh, engaging look that makes them more attractive for the kitchen.

Instead of tucking your caddy away, you can now proudly keep it front and centre. Take a look at the three design options we’ve created and vote for your favourite:

1. Set the Tone – A clean, geometric pattern that fits with any modern kitchen.

2. 'Rubbish' Characters – Fun food characters that add a touch of personality to your caddy.

3. Food for Thought – A vibrant design inspired by fresh, healthy produce.

Which is your favourite?

Just a thought on two of the designs - there seems to be a lot of whole fruit/vegetables on there when ideally, the only waste would be inedible parts like peelings/skins. I wonder if seeing the whole fruit/veg on there could give the impression that it's ok to waste them etc? Might be better to show the type of waste wanted - it doesn't look as pretty but is more realistic in terms of the end goal?
